Autonomous vehicles driving inclusion of underserved communities

May Mobility is committed to making transportation more safe, sustainable, accessible and equitable for everyone by increasing public access to essential locations ranging from medical care centers to recreational facilities. By developing autonomous vehicles that increase mobility and extend transit, May Mobility is establishing more connected communities.

The Challenge

May Mobility is a leader in the development and deployment of autonomous vehicle technology, and is dedicated to using autonomous vehicles to improve transportation safety, accessibility and equity in communities around the globe. May Mobility was notified that components critical to its vehicle operations were deemed end-of-life with no long-term replacement available. As demand continued to grow for these vehicles, May Mobility was tasked with finding a reliable components partner.

The Solution

Working with May Mobility to meet their exact requirements, Crystal Group designed the RA004, an autonomous vehicle appliance. Using forward-looking configuration management, our team of engineers developed a road map for all custom-off-the-shelf (COTS) components included in the design to ensure any future changes are seamless and don’t impact May Mobility’s operations.

Benefits

  • Consistency across hardware solutions
  • Product customized to meet exact configuration requirements
  • Streamlined integration with existing systems
  • Ability to withstand extreme environmental temperatures, shock, and vibration
  • Compact footprint and weight
